Company: la Grande Ruota - Italian Flour "Polenta"
In the Po Valley, rich in springs and rivers, we select the best farms for the cultivation of all the corn we use to produce our flour.
La Grande Ruota Srl, a small family owned company, situated near the city of Brescia in the Lombardia region, Northern Italy, has been established since 1853.
The company, still run by the same family of the founder, produces various corn flour, internationally called “Italian Original Polenta”, with its high quality and unique taste, well recognized around the world, by both the professionals in the food service industry and by regular consumers.
The high quality production standards, well kept family secrets in the corn flour milling process, and a family tradition passed on from father to son for many generations, makes this company very special.
All agronomic practices are followed by our Agronomists technicians. The drying and storage take place in our center, to ensure a quality product.
In the walls of the Dello mill, since 1853, it has been handed down from father to son a passion for milling and respect for the local food traditions.
The origins of the production site, however, are far more distant in time: the first traces of the mill La Grande Ruota date back to the fifteenth century: a document of the State Archive of Brescia bears witness to the founding of mill of the Manerbia river in 1434.
