The scenario

Sasso Pisano (Pi), a medieval village in the heart of Tuscany, the land of natural phenomena emanated from the earth emitting heat and steam.

The innovative idea: take advantage of geothermal energy to produce beer

Vapori di Birra is the first brewery in Italy that uses geothermal steam as primary source of energy, whit respect of the environment and with the knowledge that the ecological feeling is a value that must be protected. The plant – boiler and tino mashing – has been properly studied and modified to exploit the potential offered by geothermal energy, and allows maximum energy savings in the production of heat together with a minimal environmental impact. In the era of globalization of food, the return to handicrafts, which brings to the foreground the natural raw materials is a challenge that rethinks the traditional manufacturing processes with the blueprint of individual creativity .
